PRACTICES: During these clinic-style practices, the girls will work on developing their basic fundamental lacrosse skills while striving to maximize player enthusiasm and a love for the sport. Players will use soft lacrosse balls, as we try to limit throwing and catching at this age (or until stick handling and hand-eye coordination is developed).

On Sundays: Kindergarten Players will need the following labeled equipment (see equipment options below):

• GIRLS’ Lacrosse stick
• Footwear:  Cleats (no metal spikes), turf shoes, or sneakers can be worn on the turf field.
• Water bottle

For any end of the season Play Days or MYL Jamboree Games: Players will need the following labeled equipment:

• GIRLS’ Lacrosse stick
• Mouth guard 
• Goggles
• Footwear:  Cleats (no metal spikes), turf shoes, or sneakers can be worn on the turf field.
• Water bottle
• Optional: Fitted Gloves and ASTM-approved headgear

• NO JEWELRY: no Fitbit / Garmin / watches / bracelets / pierced earrings.

  • Unfortunately, you can NOT put tape over the earrings. The refs will make them take the earrings out.
  • Try to remember to remove all jewelry before arriving at the game, so the girls are not scrambling to find a safe spot to keep their jewelry at the start of the game.

• Plan to wear our White HOME side of your HGYL Jersey or Pinney (for U9) and AWAY games will be the Green side of Jersey or Pinney). If you have not received your HGYL uniform yet, we have extra pinneys or older jerseys to wear for the 1st game.

• When Spring weather is upon us, please have your daughters layer clothing under their uniforms (if it is cold /rainy/windy) until we get into steady warmer weather. 

• Feel free to send them in a rain jacket as well for the sidelines (we will try to have a tent over our bench as well).  

• Players are permitted to wear sweatshirts/coats (NO HOODS!), but they must be worn underneath team jerseys.
